Summer is finally here and you just got an invitation to a big pool party in two weeks. Dig out your swimsuit from last year to head over to the tanning beds to get a start on your tan, try it on, look into the mirror and wow looks like there’s more of you than will fit into that swimsuit. What to do, only have two weeks to loose ten pounds. It’s time for Atkins diet induction phase kick-off, all you need to do is get your own body into its fat burning mode.

Atkins Induction Phase Principles

First we will discuss the Atkins Nutritional Principles for weight loss.
*During the induction phase of Atkins your body will switch from burning carbohydrates to burning your fat.
*Controlling carbohydrate intake stabilizes blood sugar levels.
*Typical results from these changes are a decrease in appetite, reduced sugar craving and increased energy.

Atkins Induction Phase Ten Day Ten Pound Plan

*Eat three meals a day, no more than 20 grams of carbohydrates, no longer than six waking hours between eating.
*Eat as much as it takes to satisfy your hunger of eggs, meat and fish, do not stuff yourself.
*Liberal amounts of fats and oils are permitted. This includes any oil that is liquid at room temperature. No hydrogenated oil or trans fat, including margarine.
*Herbs and spices are permitted as long as they contain no sugar.
*Cheese only full aged, firm, soft, and semi-soft and limit it to four ounces a day. No fresh cheese such as cottage cheese or farmer’s cheese they are too high in carbohydrates during Atkins induction phase.
*Carbohydrates come in the form of greens and vegetables remember no more than 20 grams, the Atkins New Diet Revolution has a list of all the foods that you are permitted to eat during the induction phase.
*You must drink at least eight glasses of water a day.
*Drink no beverages that contain caffeine.
*No Alcohol at all during induction
*No sugar in any form check everything that you are thinking about eating sugar is hiding everywhere.
* Time to sweat get up and exercise, unless you are physically unable with a doctor’s excuse you need to start on a program if you want to fit into that swimsuit.
*Take a daily multivitamin with minerals, but without iron.

Atkins Induction Phase Wrap-Up

There it is all laid out for you, remember it takes about three days for your body to go from burning carbohydrates to burning fat, and one cheat and you will be starting all over again. Another thing you may think that you can stuff yourself as long as you eat the right foods but that is not so eat too much and your body will convert it into glucose.
